My company used to have att as the phone T-1 provider with an Avaya Definity phone switch. Our office is in Dallas and we could call ANY phone number in the 972 or 214 area code and it was treated as a Local Call (we did NOT have to dial a “1″).
We switched to a different T-1 provider for our PRI channels (and to an Avaya IP Office phone pbx) and now there are many phone exchanges within 972 that we have to use a “1″ (long distance) to dial.
We did NOT have a metro line before and we dont have one now.
What happened?
Is there some other sort of service that we had before that made these calls local ???
